Hi! My name is Dawn Winkelmann and I am a Speech Language Pathologist and Certified Feeding Therapist. I have over 15 years of experience evaluating and treating children with Swallowing and Feeding Disorders as well as Speech and Language Disorders. I have started and maintained several inpatient and outpatient Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Study Programs and have developed continuing education courses for other Speech Language Pathologists in the area of speech and swallowing. I specialize in the medically fragile child as well as children on the autistic spectrum, although I do serve a wide range of clients including geriatrics, adults, teenagers and pediatrics.

I have had the privilege of lecturing in the United States as well as in China and my therapy techniques have been highlighted on the Montel Williams Show and China Network Television. I am dedicated to the biomedical approach for treating autism, improving their nutritional status and educating parents. I support this approach as I playfully encourage children in my therapy sessions to consume and enjoy an autism diet, happily drink supplements and swallow pills safely. I lecture on tips and techniques for feeding a child on the spectrum as well as speech and language improvements from biomedical intervention. I am currently teaching a weekly video lecture series for parents regarding Feeding and Swallowing Disorders on Dr. Kurt Woeller’s website: AutismActionPlan.org.
